Whether you book onto one of my classes, follow an online video or join me on a workshop or retreat, you can generally expect a Hatha-based practice. This ancient style of yoga brings balance in the body, mind and emotions and will involve physical poses (asanas) and breathing techniques, wrapped in awareness and mindfulness. Hatha is practiced at a relatively slow pace versus other types of yoga, giving you time and space to listen to what you need physically and mentally.
Your reason for coming to yoga will be unique to you, and so the practice will wrap around your individual needs. Each Hatha practice is holistic which means that your whole body will receive new energy, care and attention. The Hatha path allows me as a teacher to offer many modifications to the traditional poses, which in turn makes this class suitable for complete beginners through to advanced students.
Yoga is proven to have a significant positive impact on *Reducing Stress, Anxiety and Depression. We learn to control the mind, instead of the mind controlling you.

All yoga practices with me are meditative in their style. What does this mean? Well, you may have experienced a yoga class which is very instructional with a ‘show and tell’ approach and lots of demonstrations. My teachings are quite different from this and aim to take you on a journey within, very much a feeling inward practice, rather than a thinking and ‘being in your head’ practice.
Through breath practices (pranayama) and movements with awareness (mindfulness), your practice naturally becomes meditative. I find this style brings a huge amount of insight, which can be used to improve your sense of wellbeing. It’s also deeply nourishing to enjoy a full yoga practice without distraction and often leads to an amazing nights sleep!

Meditation develops certain areas of the brain, such as those that are responsible for *Memory, Compassion, and Empathy.
Yoga truly is a mind-body practice. Research has found that a regular Yoga practice *Improves Brain Functioning.
Meditation and mindfulness practices *quieten the ‘monkey mind’, the chatter, the distractions, the self-sabotaging stuff that’s always round our minds.
