I’m super happy and proud to share that Adeles Yoga is a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year category at the Business for Calderdale Awards.
If you’re not familiar with the Business for Calderdale Awards, they are an opportunity to support and celebrate businesses in the Calderdale area. The awards particularly recognise businesses that show innovation, determination and resilience.
Innovative wellbeing solutions
To be recognised at all is fantastic, but I’m especially proud to be shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year category. This category celebrates people who are doing things a little bit differently. If you’ve ever attended a yoga class, workshop or course with me, you’ll know that I try to weave in wellbeing solutions from lots of different sources, people and places. And then there’s that added Adele sparkle when I add my own two-penneth too! The Business for Calderdale Awards look around the community for businesses that are trying new things and achieving great results. My unique East-meets-West approach caught the judges’ attention.
My Love Your Body course is a great example of this in practice. This was a new course that I managed to secure funding for back in 2022. I designed, wrote and delivered it for people that were struggling with weight loss and self-worth. I really wanted to offer something that was less focused on the number on the scales and, instead, unpicked all the things that hold us back from living a healthier and contented life. By using tools and techniques from across the globe and reframing the way we look at weight loss, so many of the course attendees found the weight naturally dropped off. It ‘wasn’t your average’ weight loss course and I’m so thrilled that the judges recognised this.
Recognition for our yoga community
It’s a real honour to be shortlisted alongside some fabulous individuals and big players in our community. As a solopreneur, seeing my name alongside them is a bit of a pinch me moment! I feel like a bit of an underdog in the category if I’m honest. But I’m determined to fly the flag for other micro businesses and show that you don’t need a big team or budget to deliver amazing things.
What you absolutely do need, though, is support. I’m so fortunate to have this in abundance from my wonderful family, friends and, of course, our fab yoga community. I really do see this as a triumph for everyone that has been involved in my yoga business over the years. I absolutely wouldn’t be here without you – so this one’s for all of us.
Putting yoga on the map
I’m also over the moon to be playing my part in getting yoga and wellbeing talked about, celebrated and firmly on the map – in Calderdale and beyond!
These awards will help to further shine a spotlight on yoga as something that everybody and every body can enjoy. I want to take this opportunity to shout as loud as I can about the life-changing benefits of yoga and continue to grow the fantastic community that we’re developing together. If you’re interested in getting involved, you can book a class or get in touch to find out more. I’d love to hear from you.
Celebrate with me
Our yoga community has always been at the heart of my business. The way my business has grown and evolved is as a direct result of your input. That’s why I don’t see this as an award just for me – but a real team effort.
I’d absolute love it if you were able to join me on the night to celebrate all that we’ve achieved. The awards night is on 11 October 2023 at The Venue in Barkisland. It’s a black-tie event and tickets are £50 which includes drinks on arrival and a three-course meal. If you’d like a place then please watch out for when the organisers offer places out to the public. Reference Adeles Yoga when you book on so that we can get our community sat together.
